Summer queens Irene, Wendy, Seulgi, Joy, and Yeri of Red Velvet make a comeback, claiming their reign with ‘Queendom.’

The K-Pop group dropped its sixth mini-album and the music video of “Queendom,” marking the start of its summer comeback with a mystical and colorful concept.

Red Velvet described the track as a “pop dance song with the message that we are all ‘Queens’ of our lives and that together, we shine more beautifully.”

The mini-album has six tracks in total with “Queendom” as the lead single followed by “Pose,” “Knock on Wood,” “Better Be,” “Pushin’ N Pullin’,” and “Hello, Sunset.”

“Queendom” instantly topped iTunes Top Album charts in various regions across the globe. It also topped digital album sales on QQ Music and KuGou Music from China. As of this writing, the “Queendom” music video has been viewed more than 32 million times on YouTube and currently the second trending content in music.

Red Velvet is known for releasing summer tracks like “Red Flavor,” “Power Up,” and “Umpah Umpah.” They are also known for their hits “Psycho,” “Bad Boy,” and “Peek-A-Boo.”

The group debuted in 2014 with “Happiness.” It is managed by SM Entertainment, along with other K-Pop acts like EXO, Girls’ Generation, Shinee, and Aespa.

“Queendom” is the first comeback for the five-member group since its last track “Psycho” in December 2019. During a year-end concert in 2019, member Wendy went on a hiatus following a stage accident which left her hospitalized for months.
