These days, when working from home, attending online classes, and participating in webinars are practically the norm, food preparation by housewives and heads of families can be a daunting responsibility, especially if one has to juggle several tasks – attend to personal needs, help with the children’s school assignments, and beat job-related deadlines.
So, when the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) announced the inclusive dates for this current enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region, a five-star hotel in my neighborhood immediately assured those who worried about food supply for the household that they can easily have nutritious, satisfying meals through its own version of “ECQ”.
Century Park Hotel’s Essential Culinary Quick-Fixes are available through its Food-On-The-Go service, thus, menu planning for the family, from appetizers to dessert, can be a breeze.
Here’s a sample of what the hotel offers: Smoked Norwegian Salmon coupled with Tagaytay greens and asparagus and served with Italian dressing, a healthy choice for those watching their calories.
Those who want to reward themselves with a hearty meal will definitely enjoy the Grilled Lamb Chops which comes with gratin potatoes and herb garlic sauce.
Those who prefer something lighter may opt for Turkey Ham cold cuts, perfectly seasoned with paprika, oregano, and other flavorful spices. Another popular item on the menu is the Barbecue Pulled Pork Panini on Rye, which comes with green salad.
For a taste of Japan, many of the hotel’s loyal foodies go for the Bimi Okonomiyaki, the famous and savory pancake made with Japanese flour, cabbage, bonito flakes, dried green seaweed, and Japanese mayonnaise.
Children will probably prefer the Country Crisp Chicken which is delivered with fragrant rice, fried bananas, and bacon.
Of course, any meal wouldn’t be complete without dessert. For YOLO (You Only Live Once) believers, the scrumptious Red Velvet Cheesecake is a must! There are also the mouthwatering Torta Nocciole di Ciocolato and the delectable Pecan Coffee Crepe Cake.
Incidentally, Century Park Hotel has recently been awarded the Safety Seal Certificate by the Department of Tourism, assuring their customers that proper health and safety protocols are always observed in their food preparation.
General manager Anthony Tan declares that he and his team handle their to-go meals with extra special care because it is their way of extending their brand of Filipino hospitality beyond the confines of the hotel. Such assurance is good enough for me.
The hotel’s Food-On-The-Go service is available from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. through mobile number 0917-633-2497 or landline (02) 8528-8888. Bill may be settled using PayPal, GCash, or bank transfer.
