International pop artist Johnny Orlando is back with his newest track “Daydream” out now via Universal Music Canada and Island Records.
The Toronto-born singer, songwriter, and actor described the song as having “an ever so slightly ‘80s vibe with a 2021 edge and feel,” “Daydream” features the pop star’s signature effortless and charming vocals paired alongside an upbeat and infectious production.
A follow-up to the stand-out track “I Don’t (with DVBBS)” released in March, “Daydream” marks the beginning of a steady release of music from Orlando through the rest of 2021 as he builds toward a new project coming in 2022. “I Don’t” and “Daydream” both offer intriguing previews of Orlando’s varying musical palette and ever-evolving sound.
“‘Daydream is an uptempo banger that produces that carefree, summer essence when you listen to it. The song doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is what we were going for when we recorded it,” said Orlando.
“My goal with this track was to make a good song and have a good time while doing it. I just want to be able to make whatever type of music I’m feeling. I love all genres, and I also love the flexibility of doing whatever moves me musically,” he added.
In celebration of the release, the 18-year-old star will be leading a #DAYDREAMSOCIALTOUR where he will go live across his various social platforms to discuss “Daydream”, answer fan questions, and chat with special guests.
Orlando is this generation’s rising pop superstar impacting a global music stage. He has amassed a social media following of over 25 million+ engaged fans worldwide, joining the global stan culture with some of the internet’s biggest personalities.
