Pageant veteran Beatriz “Zea” Awatin was supposed to join the Miss World Philippines 2021 pageant, but ended up being the country’s representative in Miss Progress International 2021 pageant to be held in Puglia, Italy.
Hand-picked by a beauty camp, the 26-year-old sales manager did not pass up on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Zea, as she is fondly called, is a Cum Laude graduate in BA International Studies at San Beda Alabang and currently finishing a Master’s Degree in International Relations at De La Salle University.
The 5-foot-7 Miss PAASCU 2013 1st runner-up is a Community Service Awardee in 2016 and won the Hong Kong Model United Nations Best Position Paper. She was a delegate in various international events such as the Global Youth Summit 2014, Jenesys Japan 2014, Philippine Model Congress 2014 and Asean Tourism Forum 2016.
An active donor of Project Pearls, Zea was a participant of CNN PH feature “Workout for a Cause 2020” – A donation drive of fitness enthusiasts for the benefit of the poor children of NPO, PROJECT PEARLS (Peace, Education, Aspiration, Respect, Love, Smiles).
Now on its 8th year, Miss Progress International Pageant 2021, to be held from Sept. 24 to Oct. 3, features more than thirty contestants from all over the world. It aims to provide a platform for the promotion of health, human rights, the environment, and cultural integration.
Zea, who is training under the Kagandahang Flores Camp in preparation for the pageant will aim to become the second Filipina to win the Miss Progress International title after Jedaver Pancho Opingo’s win in 2017.

Miss Bikini Philippines, Miss Fit Philippines beauties at major national beauty pageants
ProMedia, headed by CEO Paul Izon Reyes, announced the return of Miss Bikini Philippines 2021 and Miss Fit Philippines 2021 pageants, happening live on the 3rd and 4th quarters of the year. Miss Bikini Philippines 2020 Chelsea Fernandez (Reyna ng Aliwan 2018 and Miss Philippines-Water 2019) graced the media launching hosted by GMA-7’s The Clash Season 3 finalist Eygee de Vera.
ProMedia, an events management company, specializing in beauty, fitness, bodybuilding and wellness events, also gave its support to its former Miss Bikini winner, runners up and finalists who are competing in different other national pageants this year.
The Miss Bikini and Fit Philippines alumni is led by Miss Bikini Philippines 2019 Louise Theunis, a 22-year-old, Magna Cum Laude graduate of BS Pharmacy and 2018 Pharmacist Licensure Examination Board No. 1 Top-notcher, who competed in Miss Philippines Earth 2021 representing Carrascal, Surigao del Sur.
Miss Bikini Philippines 2020 Runner-up Elda Louise Aznar, a former flight attendant from Davao City; and Miss Fit Philippines 2020 2nd runner-up Anita Rose Gomez, a student in Customs administration, from Olongapo City and an advocate in sustainable solid waste management competed at Miss Philippines Earth 2021.
Two other former Miss Bikini 2019 and 2020 finalists, Shanon Tampon, a 24-year-old, BSBA Marketing Graduate, BS Mechanical Engineering student and staunch advocate of animal welfare; and Natasha Jung, an 18-year-old, Fil-Aussie, high school student at Saint Paul's School of Professional Studies, are candidates in Binibining Pilipinas 2021 and Miss World Philippines 2021, respectively.
ProMedia Operating Officer Chiara Alix Lim, a former candidate of Miss Philippines Earth 2019 and Miss Scuba Philippines 2019; and Miss Scuba Philippines 2019 Marine Ambassador Sheikha M. Calapatia, a finalist in Miss Bikini Philippines 2020, are aspiring beauty queens in the future.
