National University in July 22 inaugurated its first campus in Central Luzon, the fourth to open as part of the university’s 10-year expansion program.
NU Chairman Hans Sy says the NU expansion anchors on the mission of their late patriarch, Henry Sy Sr., to help Filipinos gain access to education.
Located at the Annex building of SM City Baliwag in Bulacan, the 14,259-square meter campus can accommodate at least 6,000 students once face-to-face classes resume. In the meantime, it virtually opens its doors to students for online classes.
Programs offered at NU Baliwag include Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Marketing Management, Business Administration Major in Financial Management, Accountancy, Tourism Management, Hospitality Management, Psychology, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, and Architecture. Recently, the campus opened slots for Senior High School strands: Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM), Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS), and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Apart from being a Microsoft showcase school, the campus takes pride in its state-of-the-art facilities including simulation rooms with up-to-date equipment for specific courses, and modern computer laboratories. NU Baliwag says its faculty members are from top performing schools to ensure the highest quality classroom instruction.
Gracing the opening ceremony were Baliwag Municipal Mayor Ferdinand Estrella together with National University officials headed by NU President Dr. Renato Carlos Ermita, Jr., NU vice president for administration Jose Nilo Ocampo, and SM Supermalls senior vice president for mall operations Bien Mateo.
