Despite exposure to a COVID-19 patient, Vice President Leni Robredo on Sunday said she had tested negative for the virus.
“Fortunately, I was negative. I’ll be back at the office tomorrow,” she said during her weekly radio program.
Upon learning that she was in contact with a COVID-19 patient, she said she immediately placed herself under quarantine and even took a swab test.
Last April, the Vice President also self-quarantined, following exposure to a close-in security detail who contracted COVID-19, and that in July 2020, a staff from the Office of the Vice President was found positive of COVID-19.
At the same time, Robredo called on all Filipinos to help one another amid the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) is readying the strictest quarantine classification from Aug. 6 to 20 to curb the surge of the Delta variant of the coronavirus.
Mean while, Kaya Natin, led by former Senator Paolo Benigno Aquino IV, said in a press statement Masses would be held on the 40th day Sunday of the late President Benigno Aquino III and his mother’s 12th death anniversary.
In a statement, Aquino said: “Our friends from the media are invited to cover the main Holy Mass and the short program that will be streamed live at 5 p.m. on Kaya Natin’s
Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/KayaNatinPH), which will carry the theme “Kayo ang Boss ko.”
“During the main Holy Mass, homilist Fr Manoling Francisco, SJ, will revisit the late President Noy Aquino’s servant-leadership while Vice-President Leni Robredo will honor the gains of Filipinos from the late President Noy Aquino’s servant-leadership, and the opportunity to continue these gains,” Kaua Natin said.
The “Bosses” of the late President Noy Aquino will commit to continue his legacy in a virtual candle lighting ceremony participated by all, it said.
Aside from Vice President Robredo, Liberal Party Senators Francis Pangilinan and Minority Floor Leader Franklin Drilon, Akbayan Senator Risa Hontiveros and officials of the Aquino government will also grace the event. Senator Drilon and former Senator Bam Aquino are available for interview regarding the event and about PNoy’s legacy on Aug. 1.
Holy Masses will also be celebrated in various locations and will be streamed online. The details of all 40 masses are available here: https://facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10159567717878554&id=46361808553
