Pacatiw’s striking skills to be tested

Jeremy Pacatiw believes that the time for him to shine is coming as he prepares to make his ONE Championship debut this Friday.

His showdown with Chinese bet Chen Rui in one of the main cards of ONE: Battleground at the Singapore Indoor Stadium will give Pacatiw that opportunity.

“When I learned that I will be fighting Chen, I said to myself, ‘this is it,” said the 25-year-old Pacatiw, who is with Team Lakay.

This will be the Baguio City-based Pacatiw’s first fight since joining ONE. He is leaving another  previous fight outfit, BRAVE FC.

His clash with “The Ghost”,  another name given to Chen, will be a three-round bantamweight mixed martial arts affair.

Pacatiw feels that his striking skills will be put to the test.

“Masusubukan iyung striking ko, kasi standup fighter itong si Chen,” added Pacatiw, who

left the Philippines early this week as monsoon rains caused a lot of disruptions on activities around Metro Manila over the past few days.

But this has not interrupted Pacatiw from his workouts.

“Kahit maulan, walang makakapigil sa aming training,” added Pacatiw.

He  hopes to come out with  a more refined version of him when he faces Chen.

Known as a veteran of 14 mixed martial arts fights, Pacatiw has a reputation to protect, with a 10-4 win-loss record following his previous fight two years ago.

Chen brags of a 9-2 slate.
