Philracom lends helping hand

The Ayuda sa Atleta, a campaign to raise funds for both regular and para national athletes, got a big boost from the Philippine Racing Commission, headed by Chairman Reli de Leon.

PHILRACOM made the Ayuda sa Atleta the beneficiary of its first leg of the Triple Crown last Sunday at the San Lazaro race track, won by Nuclear Bomb, beating War Cannon in the 1600m race.

"We believe in the program, our national athletes need some assistance during this time of the pandemic and the PHILRACOM Board readily approved the proposal I nade for Ayuda sa Atleta," said Chairman de Leon.

The other Commisioners are Atty. Victor Tantoco, Lyndon Guce, Dante Lanting, and Dennis Laogan.

Sports journalist Lito Cinco from Manila Standard expressed his group's appreciation for the assistance.

"What Jean Henri Lhuillier started with a P250,000 seed fund has certainly been a big thing for us as other companies and individuals followed suit. We have started distributing ayuda eco bags to para athletes and will touch base now with regular athletes," he said.

The Federation of Indian Chambers of  Commerce has also donated, through its President, former PBA player Mike Advani.
