Scorched Smokehouse will be opening its third branch at SM Center Manila following the successful launching of its two branches—one in Laong Laan also in Manila and another in Las Piñas—despite the pandemic.
"Scorched Smokehouse’s opening comes on the heels of the coronavirus pandemic that hit the country for over a year now. The business is running smoothly that's why we are on track to open five branches in a period of four years from 2019 to 2022," said Lenny Kaw, president of Scorched Smokehouse.
Scorched offers authentic smoked meats using hickory wood chips imported from the United States.
Its third branch will formally open on August 7, Kaw said.
"We help promote inclusive growth by hiring workers from residents in surrounding communities where the restaurant is situated," Kaw said.
She said the company is planning to put up its fourth and fifth branches at SM Grand Central and SM Clark or Pampanga in the latter part of the year until the first quarter of 2022.
"Our group is optimistic that restaurants and other food businesses are starting to recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The food industry is starting to bounce back,” Kaw added.
Pampanga’s distinction as the culinary capital of the Philippines is a consideration in their decision to put up a branch there, Kaw said.
Scorched Smokehouse offers pork, beef and even chicken meat smoked using hickory wood chips for a distinct flavor.
Additional dishes such as the crispy pulled pork slaw and chocolate a la mode will soon be introduced in the menu.
"All meats are fall-of-the-bone and super tender as they are smoked for about 12 hours,” Kaw said.
