The Ford Ranger was the top-selling Ford vehicle with sales rising 13 percent from a year ago to 4,515 units. The 4×4 pickup segment remained Ford’s sweet spot, with sales reaching 2,588 units, or a 28 percent increase from last year’s sales. The Ranger Raptor continues to drive overall 4×4 sales for the automotive brand.

The Ford Territory also delivered robust sales in the first half of 2021 and retained its leadership in the small SUV segment. Sales reached 3,323 units, cornering a 56 percent market share in the segment. The Ford Territory also recently reached its 5,000th customer milestone after selling 5,248 units from August 2020 to June 2021, on the back of a growing demand among customers looking for a practical, stylish, and feature-packed SUV.

“The Ranger and Territory’s strong sales in the first half of the year is a testament to its sustained popularity in the market, and we thank our customers for their continued trust and preference towards our pickups and SUVs,” shares Michael Breen, managing director, Ford Philippines.

Expanded 4×4 pickup portfolio

Ford expanded its 4×4 pickup offerings with the launches of the Ranger FX4 MAX in March and the Ranger Wildtrak 4×4 with power roller shutter in June. The FX4 MAX offers greater off-road capability with FOXTM shocks off-road suspension and 17-inch alloy wheels with BFGoodrich™ all-terrain tires. The iconic F-O-R-D grille, tubular sports bar, leather seats with carbon accents and Miko suede inserts, and all-weather floor mats give the FX4 MAX a tough look outside and premium feel inside.

Ford also enhanced the functionality of the Ranger Wildtrak 4×4 with the power roller shutter, a segment-first original equipment manufactured product that offers greater security when transporting cargo.

Raptor X arrives

Sustaining momentum into the second half of year and further boosting its 4×4 pickup portfolio, Ford unveiled the limited-edition Ranger Raptor X, arriving in Ford dealerships starting July 28. The Raptor X features over-the-top (OTT) and body side stripes, extended leg sports bar, red front tow hooks, and matte black wheels with all-terrain tires, giving the Raptor a more rugged and sporty look. Only 200 Raptor X units will be made available to customers throughout the year.
