Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista reaffirms his loyalty to GMA Network.
But despite inking another exclusive contract with his home network, Christian admits that he felt nervous at first as he was not sure if his contract would still get renewed.
“Of course, there was nervousness. We all know that there’s a pandemic and everything’s not sure. But when I was given assurance that they would renew my contract, I had peace of mind already,” he says.
The singer-actor-host, dubbed as Asia’s Romantic Balladeer is very thankful that he is still an exclusive Kapuso talent.
“To still be offered a contract provides a great deal of humility and thankfulness that this network still trusts and supports me after so many years. That I’m still here working with and for them. It feels good as an artist.”
That’s why Christian vows to continue doing his best in his craft.
“I promise to do my best as a Kapuso in all the years that they will have me. If they’ll have me, I will do my best to be there for them!”
It’s no secret that there are some Kapuso artists whose contracts weren’t renewed, the reason why they moved to rival stations. What can he say about it?
“Honestly, I’m not in the position to comment on that. I’ve also been there before. I know the feeling of transferring. A dialogue takes place. All aspects get reviewed and analyzed. Sometimes, it happens that an artist is renewed but he or she wants to trek a different path, a different take or look on surrounding.”
As of now, he’s regularly seen in “All-Out Sundays” and will still serve as one of the judges in the new season of “The Clash.” Interestingly, does he miss acting?
“Personally, when a project I’m part of already ends, I just think of the next show I’m going to do whether it’s another hosting stint or acting, singing and touring. I just look forward to what’s next or whatever that may be. Like as early as now, I’m already planning for my 20th anniversary concert next year!”
Speaking of projects, Christian also expressed his desire to be part of the creative team of the shows he will do in the future.”‹
“Yes, if it’s possible, why not? There are people who are excellent in their craft as artists but could not be depended upon on the creative side. In my case, I want to experience how it is to become such. My being a line producer of Alden Richards’ virtual concert last year is a good start,” he ends.

Reports are rife that Xian Lim is being tapped by GMA to star opposite Jennylyn Mercado in the drama series with the working title, “Love. Die. Repeat.”
It is said that the actor is excited with this development which is something new for him. As everyone knows, he started his career with ABS-CBN in 2008 and became a love team with Kim Chiu. But in 2018, he moved to Viva Artists Agency although he continued appearing in Kapamilyaprograms.
Luckily, even with the pandemic and shutdown of the Kapamilya network, Xian remained visible and got busy with other projects both on television and film.
TV 5 tapped him to host the game show “1000 Heartbeats: Pintig-Pinoy” whose first season ended last month. The producers assured that they will have a second season before the year ends.
While waiting for this, Xian has enough time to concentrate on his maiden Kapuso project with Jennylyn especially that his shooting for the movie “Yorme: The Musical” is also nearing completion.
