Farmers in Pampanga will soon receive the lot titles to at least 376.25 hectares of agricultural land owned by the Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU), according to the Department of Agrarian Reform.
Secretary John Castriciones recently held a dialogue in the town of Magalang to prepare the qualified and rightful agrarian reform beneficiaries to the upcoming distribution of the land.
He said he wanted the public to know the issues and concerns of every stakeholder so that DAR could immediately resolve them and implement the distribution of government-owned lands without any hindrance.
“There are already 174.24 hectares of undisputed lands identified and we just need to process it so that we can distribute it as soon as possible. With regards to the remaining 202.01 hectares, we are currently working on it, so that we can distribute them as well to other farmer-beneficiaries,” he said.
PSAU is a government-owned land and will be distributed under the comprehensive agrarian reform program through Executive Order No. 75 of 2019bthay directs all government instrumentalities to identify all idle public agricultural lands that can be subjected to acquisition to be distributed to qualified beneficiaries.
The DAR chief stressed that the distribution of GOLs is a directive of President Rodrigo Duterte so that landless farmers could have a land of their own to till and improve their economic lives.
“We are fast-tracking the distribution of lands in PSAU so that other GOLs in this province will follow suit and be distributed to the other agrarian reform beneficiaries,” he said.
