More than a year after ABS-CBN went off air, questions about network loyalty and cutting ties with mother studio are still being asked by the members of showbiz press whenever they get the chance to speak with someone from the Kapamilya’s pool of actors and talents.
In a recent virtual event that introduced television host Luis Manzano as the official endorser of Sweet Via — a natural sweetener that can be added into your food and beverages—the 40-year-old celebrity was asked to comment on the recent surge of celebrities moving to GMA Network, specifically John Lloyd Cruz.
Without mincing his words, Luis explained that given the current situation, it’s inevitable for anyone, including talents behind the camera, to look for job stability.
“A man has to do what a man has to do. I will never judge any artist or any staff or anyone who would transfer stations. Kung nasaan and trabaho, duon ka dapat especially if you have a family,” Luis started.
“Why would I judge someone who only wants to provide for himself or for his family. So, I never judge any artists who [decided to transfer to other networks]. My mom, nakailang lipat din naan siya ng istasyon. Ganoon naman talaga,” he carried on.
Luis also noted that he is very much happy as a Kapamilya and he is glad that he still has a few projects to keep himself busy.
“At this time, I’m still with ABS, I’m busy with ABS. So, we could leave it at that,” he answered succinctly.
Speaking of projects, Luis recently scored an endorsement via Sweet Via. Known as a passionate advocate of wellness, he believes that a well-balanced lifestyle is a key to maintaining a productive life
“I just turned 40 this year and what I learned as we grow older is that we must always watch what we eat,” said Luis.
“I know a lot of people who got diabetes either genetically or because of their food choices. Me, I’m really into sweets and there’s always room for so much more desserts in my life. Because of Sweet Via, I now have a healthy alternative that enables me to satisfy my cravings without putting myself at risk of diabetes and minus the guilt as well,” he added.
Meanwhile, getting Luis’s service as a celebrity endorser, Santé’s CEO Joey Marcelo believes that the TV personality perfectly represents Sweet Via as he is enjoying a balanced life that is both active and healthy.
“We are honored to officially welcome Luis to the Santé family, and we are looking forward to all the exciting projects that we will do in collaboration with him in the months to come,” Marcelo noted.
Sweet Via is available in leading Mercury Drug stores, Watsons, The Generics Pharmacy, Puregold, Lawson, The Landmark, All Day Supermarkets, and order online thru Lazada and Shopee.
