Former University of the Philippines player Mikee Reyes is using the YouTube platform to interview and relive the careers of some of the Philippines’ top basketball players and coaches in the professional amateurs and collegiate levels.
The former Maroon conducts his interviews through video conferencing, an online meeting where his interviewees engage in an audio-visual call. After edits, the hours-long conversation is posted on Reyes’ channel.
The most-watched segment of the channel is the ‘WRU Now?’ (Where Are You Now?), which focuses on the perspective that there is a life besides and after basketball.
Former PBA players Jai Reyes, Paolo Hubalde, Rico Maierhofer, Chico Lanete, Ronjay Buenafe, Borgie Hermida, Jeric Fortuna, and Dylan Ababou were some of the notable ballers featured in the segment.
“Here we can see how the lives of basketball players have shifted,” Reyes said in one of his interviews.
The talk channel also has other segments named ‘Timeout’ that are particular for coaches, which already included Bo Perasol, Franz Pumaren, and Frankie Lim, and ‘Specials’ that featured PBA superstars Gary David, Danny Ildefonso, Arwind Santos, and Gabe Norwood.
Also a former analyst for the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Reyes posted his first video in September 2020.
As of today, the channel has 11.3 million views and 52,000+ subscribers.
