One of the top officials of the National Golf Association of the Philippines will grace the online edition of the Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum this Tuesday to discuss the major boost generated by the sport in the wake of the breakthrough triumph of Yuka Saso in the recent US Women’s Open.
NGAP Secretary General Bones Floro talks about the impact of the 19-year-old Saso’s victory to Philippine golf which marked the first time in history a Filipina won one of the major championships in the sport.
Floro will also delve on the campaign of Saso along with fellow golfers Bianca Pagdanganan and Juvic Pagunsan in next month’s Tokyo Olympics.
Emerson Obiena, father of Olympic pole vaulter EJ Obiena, joins Floro in the weekly session presented by San Miguel Corporation, MILO, Amelie Hotel Manila, Braska Restaurant, and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation.
Obiena shares the final preparations being done by his son for the Tokyo Games. The young Obiena won the gold in the Jump and Fly International Athletics held in Mossingen, Germany over the weekend.
