Staying active is one of the best ways to keep oneself physically fit. Physical activities can help relieve stress, depression, and anxiety. They also increase muscle strength.
Being active also contributes to a person’s wellness and health as physical activities helps lower blood sugar, improve blood flow, keep weight under control and prevent bone loss, among others.
The new normal of staying at home has restricted most people from moving around so they are not able to get the proper movement the body needs. This is especially true for seniors who are discouraged from going out of their residences.
There is no need to despair. Sunshine Place Online has scheduled a fitness talk and webinar on June 14, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The fitness talk and webinar will be facilitated by fitness coach Cathy Mariano of Life-Care Fitness Management, Inc. Mariano, who has a degree in Sports Science, will talk about activities one can indulgence in while confined at home to keep oneself healthy. The webinar and fitness talk is free for members of the Sunshine Place Senior Recreation Center.
