Police arrested two suspected drug dealers and seized more than P1.3 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation Tuesday night in Muntinlupa City.
Arrested were Roxane Alcaide, 28, and Joana Leoncio, 18, both residents of Barangay San Vicente in San Pedro, Laguna.
Aside from the illegal drugs, authorities also seized two mobile phones, two personal bags, and an eco-bag used by the suspects in their illegal transactions.
Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg said his men from the Drug Enforcement Unit led by Maj. Cecilio Tomas Jr. conducted the entrapment operation around 8 p.m. at a mall in Barangay Alabang in coordination with the Muntinlupa City Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Macaraeg commended his men and the PDEA personnel for the arrest of the suspects.
“I hope this would be another lesson to everyone not to get involved in illegal drugs activities because the PNP is unrelenting in pursuing any person or group involved in illegal drugs” he said.
Macaraeg said the SPD is conducting a series of police operations as part of the continuing crackdown on drug dealing in the National Capital Region.
Early this month, the SPD also busted three suspected drug dealers and seized more than P1 million worth of shabu in Paranaque City.
