The Philippine National Police is hunting down two male suspects involved in the broad daylight killing of an aviation cop in Capas, Tarlac yesterday.

GRIM SCENARIO. In these screen grabs from a video circulating on social media, assassins cut off the car of Police Staff Sgt. Michael Maun on a street in Capas, Tarlac on Tuesday. The first attacker (in black shirt, first frame) fires his pistol through Maun’s driver-side window. The second attacker (in white shirt, second frame) then alights and sprays bullets through the windshield with his rifle. Both men then board their car, firing more shots as they escape.

“We will exert all our efforts and look into the bottom of this. We continue to solicit the support of the general public in order to maintain peace and order, safety and security of our communities,” Police Regional Office 3 chief Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon said.

De Leon identified the victim as Staff Sgt. Michael Maun, who was assigned to the PNP Aviation Group based in Clark, Pampanga.

Based on the CCTV video that caught the ambush, Maun was driving along Brgy. Cristo Rey when a black car, with plate number ZEW 568, overtook his vehicle.

Two armed suspects alighted and strafed Maun’s vehicle.
