Laguna-born Samuel F. Abuhijleh plays center/forward for San Beda.

With his height and body built, Laguna-born Samuel F. Abuhijleh is really something to look forward to in the world of hoops.

Born on Oct. 1, 1998 in Calamba City, Laguna, this 6-foot-3 forward/center for the San Beda team is one decorated student-athlete.

Sam’s career-high in points is 46 during the MSSA League several years ago. His favorite shot is hook shot or floater, something he’s extremely good at.

Sam’s favorite NBA player is Detroit Pistons star Blake Griffin while in the PBA, he looks up to Marc Pingris. In the NCAA, he likes San Beda Red Lions’ Art Dela Cruz while in the UAAP, he likes Arvin Tolentino.

“I had the chance to play with Arvin when he was still with San Beda. In my rookie year, he was already my idol. I always get the chance to play with him one-on-one,” says the young cager.

In high school, he was part of San Beda Red Cubs High School Rizal that took home the 2014 Palarong Pambansa champion, representing CALABARZON Region IV-A. They were also the NCAA champions who completed a rare 6-peat title. Add to these is the PSSBC tournament where they went on to win also as champions.

Playing with a mission, Sam wants to be a professional basketball player in the PBA someday.
