Operatives of the Bureau of Immigration arrested a 52-year-old Polish national wanted in his homeland for sexual offenses against minors.
According to BI Fugitive Search Unit member Bobby Raquepo, Dariusz Zygmunt Ziolkowski was arrested in coordination with the Siquijor Police Provincial Office and Siquijor MPS in Barangay Candanay Sur, Siquijor, Siquijor.
“We have received official communication from Polish authorities informing us of his standing warrant of arrest,” said Raquepo.
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, on learning of Ziolkowski’s crimes, immediately issued a Mission Order to effect the arrest.
“Predators targeting the vulnerabilities of our children are not welcome in this country,” said Morente.
“We are in close coordination with international law enforcement agencies and foreign counterparts in our active search for these criminals, so we may weed them out from our land,” he added.
Records from the BI show that Ziolkowski has a standing warrant of arrest in violation of Polish laws issued by the District Court of Wroclaw Fabryczna, Poland, in 2018 for sexual offenses against minors.
A European warrant of arrest was also issued against him in September 2020.
