The Department of Tourism – National Capital Region is returning with the first instalment of its highly acclaimed “Leadership Excellence Series (LES) featuring a 3600 virtual learning experience.
The hybrid training program inspired by the world-renowned TEDTalks will be brought to life from the traditional webinar format through 3D and greenscreen technology and is happening at the Okada Manila on February 11, 2021, from 2 to 4 p.m. via Zoom and simulcast over DOT-NCR’s social media channels @TourismMNL on Facebook and Twitter, and Tourism MNL on Youtube.
Registered participants can expect to be empowered and equipped with new skills to thrive in this new normal through the sharing of industry principles geared toward elevating the Filipino brand of hospitality to a topnotch level 2.0.
Speaking on necessary health protocols in business is the Founder and Chief Transport Advocate of Angkas, George Royeca, who is also a proponent of the government’s Stay Safe PH application, a contact tracing program which aims to help the country implement proper safeguards and measures against COVID. Also gracing the LES platform is Martin Aguilar, the Asean Master Assessor Founder and Chief Consultant of the consultancy group, The Filipino Hospitality. Mr. Aguilar provides consultancy and training services to the Department of Tourism (DOT), Technical Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and to numerous private companies. He will be speaking on the excellence of the Filipino brand of service.
The Leadership Excellence Series (LES) started last July 24, 2020 with its maiden edition featuring John Maxwell certified speaker and author Francis Kong, and the multi-awarded marketing guru Josiah Go. Its second installment on October 30, 2020, Jonathan Yabut, the millennial guru and Filipino winner of The Apprentice Asia, as well as Ardy Abello, the best-selling author and top-ranked multinational speaker graced the LES stage. Since then, LES became a game-changer in online training programs providing business and tourism practitioners with the necessary global leadership ideas, business acumen and new digital technology to survive or pivot from their businesses during these unprecedented times.
The Leadership Excellence Series (LES) 2021 forms part of a collection of courses offered by the DOT—the brainchild of the tourism chief herself, Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat—which collectively seeks to retool, reskill and reboot tourism stakeholders and tourism workers in the new norm. This online activity is open to the public, free-of-charge, with priority for tourism industry enterprises, players, and frontliners.
According to DOT-NCR Regional Director Woodrow C. Maquiling, Jr., “LES aspires to inspire tourism workforce and stakeholders alike to make tourism our country’s success story once more.”
