Battle of Manila rites

Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko’ Domagoso (lower right of photo) leads the wreath-laying ceremony during the 76th Anniversary of the Battle for Manila held at the Memorial Cross in Fort Santiago, Intramuros on Wednesday. American and Filipino forces fought the month-long battle of the Philippine campaign of 1944-45 during the Second World War against Japanese troops, which led to the death of over 100,000 civilians and the complete devastation of the capital.
