The Bureau of Customs has intercepted 116 bottles of liquid marijuana at the Central Mail Exchange Center at the NAIA Complex in Pasay City.
The BOC-NAIA said the intercepted packages were declared as “Dietary Supplements” with different consignees.
The attempt to smuggle the bottles was prevented through strict profiling and the conduct of physical examination. The DEA Chemical Laboratory Test confirmed that the seized packages contained liquid cannabis.
PDEA said the importation of marijuana in any variety and form, including derivatives, is prohibited under R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
All seized packages were immediately turned over to the PDEA for further investigation and case buildup against the people responsible for shipping them.
Customs said it will continue to be vigilant against all attempts to bring into the country prohibited, restricted and dangerous goods.
