After having recovered from an injury, Fil-American pole vaulter and Tokyo Olympics hopeful Natalie Uy will now adjust her training program.
The 25-year-old Uy said this now that she is starting to train again after she hurt her left hand during practice last September.
Uy got injured when the pole she was using broke.
Now that she is done with a recent hand surgery and is now recovering, Uy informed Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association chief Philip Ella Juico of her progress.
“I am now getting back into the swing of things and working through physical therapy and getting my form back,” said Uy.
Uy added that she is 90 percent healed and will hopefully be able to start pole vaulting next month, or February.
And by March, Uy is confident that she can join the three-month indoor season in the United States.
Last July, Uy tied with two others after clearing 4.11 meters during the 19-29 years old age group women’s pole vault meet at the American Track League in Atlanta, Georgia.
Uy went on to claim the gold after she cleared the height on her first attempt.
Reaching the Olympic entry standard of 4.70 meters is Uy’s goal.
