To help bring merriment during the Christmas season, Kapuso Barangayan on Wheels will launch its third wave and will bring relief packs to various parts of the country.

To date, the campaign has been able to reach 6,830 families since it was rolled out last May, with GMA RTV teams providing beneficiaries affected by the pandemic and calamities with food packs and other essential items.

For its first and second legs, the Kapuso Barangayan on Wheels through GMA RTV North Central Luzon was able to provide food packs to 1,280 families in various barangays in Dagupan, Pangasinan.  In Iloilo, 1,780 families were able to receive their breakfast meals delivered to them by GMA RTV Western Visayas. The Kapuso Barangayan on Wheels also gave out locally produced vegetables to 1,610 families in Cebu via GMA RTV Central and Eastern Visayas. GMA RTV North, Central, and Southern Mindanao was able to reach 1,320 families in Davao and 840 families in Cagayan de Oro with grocery items.

“Helping our Kapuso in the regions is one of GMA Regional TV’s priorities. Aside from providing them with relevant local news and information, now that it’s Christmas season, we can’t think of a better way to keep the Christmas spirit alive than by helping each other,” said GMA Regional TV and Synergy Vice President and Head Oliver Victor Amoroso.

“We are also grateful to all our regional partners for helping us with this initiative. The success of the first and second waves will not be possible without them and all the GMA RTV teams across the Philippines working hand in hand. We hope that we will be able to reach more families as we roll out the third wave of Kapuso Barangayan on Wheels,” Amoroso added.
