Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte on Monday spearheaded the distribution of gift packs to all QC Police District personnel dubbed “Pamaskong Handog sa Panahong ng Pandemya” at its headquarters in Camp Karingal, Sikatuna Village.
Brig. Gen. Danilo Maceren, QCPD director, said the gift packs contained a “noche buena” meal and five kilos of rice.
Maceren said he also received a cheque to be given later to the police personnel.
In her message, Belmonte reiterated her full support to the Philippine National Police, particularly to the men and women of QCPD especially in this time of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.
“As your local government unit, it is only imperative that we show our support to you by giving these simple gifts para may maiuwi kayo sa pamilya ninyo para may maihanda kayo sa darating na Kapaskuhan. It is our way of showing our love to you as frontliners who have been battling this pandemic,” she said.
The mayor reminded the public to stay at home and observe the minimum health protocols in a bid to help the frontliners to combat COVID-19.
