Clark Freeport — The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) is one with the government in the observance of the 18-day campaign to end Violence Against Women (VAW) initiated by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW).
The campaign started on Nov. 25, 2020 and will end on Dec. 12, 2020. This advocacy is being conducted annually as mandated by Proclamation 1172 series of 2016.
For this year, the advocacy comes with a theme “VAW-Free Community Starts with Me” which objectives include the promotion of awareness on the form of violence women and girls experience, provision of information on laws protecting women and children, mainstreaming of VAW-related services that the public may avail, strengthening of a prevention and response system for VAW, and at the same time, gain public support for the said program.
For its part, CDC has also laid – out some activities that will help in the promotion of VAW-Free Community campaign and programs. These initiatives were led by CDC Officer-in-Charge for Office of the President and CDC-Gender and Development – Focal Point System (GAD-FPS) Chairperson Engr. Mariza O. Mandocdoc.
To equip CDC employees with suitable trainings and capacity development services that will help improve the delivery of services for all stakeholders, the CDC – GAD FPS and Technical Working Group (TWG) spearheaded the conduct of Online GAD and Sexual Harassment Policy Orientation for CDC personnel.
With this activity, CDC- GAD FPS and TWG envisions to provide useful information that will encourage employees to be active members of the community in addressing all forms of gender-based violence. Also in the pipeline are other GAD – related programs and projects by CDC that are all geared towards the promotion of gender-friendly workplace and environment.
