To meat or not to meat

Two new burgers are making the rounds on social media: one features the delightful Angus beef flavor made more special with truffle, the other surprises meat-loving folks with its plant-based patty.

Black Truffle Burger

For a limited time only, the Philippine branches of burger chain Shake Shack is serving this indulgent treat made with 100 percent all-natural Angus beef with Swiss cheese, crispy ale-marinated shallots, arugula, and black truffle mayo.

Joining the “truffle team” this holiday season are Black Truffle Chick’ n Shack and Black Truffle Fries—both with black truffle mayo.

To order Black Truffle Burger and other truffle variants, contact Shake Shack Central Square at (02) 8255-3240; Shake Shack Greenbelt at (02) 7933-6724; Shake Shack Mega Fashion Hall at (02) 8362-1450; or order via GrabFood or foodpanda.

Plant-based Whopper

Burger King brings to the Philippines its Plant-based Whopper.

Burger King’s new Whopper proves that you can have your burger and eat it too.

The vegetarian-friendly Plant-based Whopper features non-meat patty made in partnership with Australia’s leading plant-based company V2Food. In lieu of meat, it’s made of soy proteins which, Burger King says, “look, cook, and taste” like its signature Whopper Patty.

Burger King’s Plant-based Whopper is now available for dine-in, takeout, and delivery at all Burger King branches nationwide. To order, call #2-22-22 or get it via GrabFood, LalaFood, or foodpanda.
