Last Monday, De los Santos earned his 20th and 21st straight gold medals after he joined the e-kata events of the Okinawa eTournament World Series #2 and the Nox Dojo Markham City Open eTournament .

“I’m really happy winning my 22nd gold, especially that it is further widening the gap in the virtual kata world rankings,” said De los Santos.

His rankings have already moved up since Monday, after De los Santos tallied 11,575 points.

This put him way ahead of Eduardo Garcia of Portugal, who stayed in second with 8,740 points.

“I focused more on competing with myself; to aim for a higher score than my performances in previous tournaments,” said De los Santos.

In reaching the finals, De los Santos prevailed over Alfredo Bustamante of the United States, 25.4-24.6.

Having a score of over 25 made it very memorable, according to De los Santos, because he has been using the difficult Unsu form during the finals.

“I was happy with it, scoring over a 25,” he said.
