Aguho Sub-Station police officers Mark Anthony Ocfemia and Raymond Rodriquez arrested and detained Raymundo last Monday based on the complaint filed by Ana Marie, mother of the victim.

Ana Marie told the authorities that Raymundo used to make rude remarks on her daughter whenever she passed by. She said there were times that the suspect flashed vulgar gestures, whistled and said to her daughter “Wow Sexy.”

“Those incidents caused annoyance and fear to my daughter,” said Ana Marie.

The latest incident happened around 6 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 15) which was described by the mother as traumatic, prompting her to report the incident to San Pedro Barangay captain Violeta Lorenzo who called the police for assistance resulting in the suspect’s arrest.

According to the police, the suspect would be charged with violating Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act) and Unjust Vexation.

Women’s desk investigator Lanie Palmero is handling the case.

In April last year, President Rodrigo Duterte also signed a law that penalizes wolf whistling, catcalling, misogynistic and homophobic slurs, unwanted sexual advances, and other forms of sexual harassment in public places, workplaces, and schools as well as in online spaces.

Senator Risa Hontiveros principally authored and sponsored in the Senate the Safe Spaces Act or Republic Act 11313, which also penalizes online sexual harassment, including sexual slurs in private messages.
