This early, Isuzu Philippines is making no bones about its plans for 2021 as far as the digital platform is concerned.
No less than Isuzu president Hajime Koso revealed the gameplan for its 2021 opening salvo: The launching of the 2021 Isuzu mu-X, one of the bestselling vehicles in the carmaker’s lineup.
Koso’s reveal came as music to the ears of a gaggle of motoring journalists who joined Isuzu executives during an afternoon tea/coffee break online.
“It’s most likely to happen in the first quarter”, Koso said, as he ruled out any more online unveiling of Isuzu autos this year.
Isuzu in Bangkok however managed to play catch-up with the rest of Thailand-based carmakers and launched the Isuzu mu-X on Oct. 29, 2020.
The Thai version is a refreshed iteration of the SUV which comes with a choice of two diesel engines: A 1.9-liter unit that generates 148hp/350Nm, and a 3.0-liter oil burner that exerts 187hp/450Nm. The latter has an all-wheel-drive system. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed manual/torque converter automatic gearbox.
Other features include an advance driver assistance system 9ADAS), six airbags, Terrain Command Shift-on-fly, blind-spot monitoring, and forward-collision warning for passengers’ safety.
The Isuzu mu-X has a length of 4,850mm and a ground clearance of 235mm.
