One of the most awaited parts in the recently concluded Miss Universe Philippines 2020 was when the finalists strutted on stage in their evening gowns. Over 40 candidates showcased their style but these ladies made a mark in their jaw-dropping looks.
Miss Iloilo City
The crowned queen, Rabiya Mateo, set the stage on fire in dark rose Jung Candelario gown. The romantic floral details and sheer train complemented Mateo’s sweet look. Candelario—an Iloilo-based designer—also created the white dress with sheer train worn by the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 winner during the preliminaries.
Miss Parañaque
Best in Evening Gown winner Ysabella Ysmael definitely wore that body-hugging, blush-pink number by Furne One for Amato Couture well. The 1st runner-up’s stunning stage presence and graceful walk—owing perhaps to her ballet training—during the preliminary round beautifully carried the feather-trimmed number across the stage.
Miss Quezon City
Michelle Gumabao’s green Ezra Santos evening gown fitted her like a glove, accentuating her gorgeous curves juxtaposed with her long straight hair.
Miss Davao City
The candidate from Davao, Alaiza Malinao hit the mark twice during the preliminary and final rounds. During the prelims, Malinao was a sight to behold in form-fitting—almost dripping—golden dress made by 20-year-old Paris-based designer Jude Macasinag. The color complemented her morena skin, and the fit highlighted her curves perfectly. During the finals, she showcased her Filipina beauty in an elegant white terno by Jo Rubio.
Miss Cavite
Billie Hakenson looked like a goddess of nature in chartreuse embellished frock by Louie Pangilinan. The thigh-high slit and drapes showcased her form.
Miss Romblon
Maria Fee Tajaran’s shining, shimmering, splendidly silver evening dress by Winston Sy was also a star during the preliminaries. And come finals, she was dripping in gold in a fringed, body-hugging gown by Pablo Mendez.
