A former sports writer has filed criminal charges before the prosecutor’s office against her former agents whom she accused of plotting to have her assassinated after she fired them from her construction firm.

Virginia Rodriguez, former sports writer of The Manila Bulletin, filed grave-threat charges before the Las Piñas City Prosecutors Office against Christine Adaniel Escalante Reuyan and Mark Eudell Guerrero, and slander charges against Jose Gayoba, alias Madam Lola and Myla Gumban.

Rodriguez claimed that the suspects started to plan for her assassination after she decided to fire them after discovering some irregularities.

She alleged that Reuyan hired the services of a gun-for-hire and gave a down payment of P100,000 to kill her.

She also learned that the suspects stole some documents from her company, and started spreading rumors against her to ruin her reputation to steal her projects from her.

Rodriguez said she had enough evidence to prove her accusation on the alleged assassination plot against her.

“Si Reuyan, Guerrero, Gayoba at Gumban ay nagkita sa isang lugar upang planuhin ang pagpatay sa akin. Si Guerrero ang kumontak sa isang dating military gun man upang itumba ako sa halagang P1 million,” Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez even decided to temporarily leave her home after they spotted some unidentified cars roaming around her house and felt that someone was following her every move whenever she was out.

The complainant has already gone to the office of the National Bureau of Investigation and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group to report the death threats.
