The Caloocan City Government led by Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan on Sunday inaugurated a new and complete quarantine facility with representatives of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
According to the mayor, the new facility, located behind the Caloocan City North Medical Center (CCNMC), is reserved for patients with mild symptoms of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
It has a 32-bed capacity, clean toilets, and complete and comfortable beds, Malapitan said.
In addition, medical personnel are also on standby to regularly monitor the condition of the patients. Food and vitamins are also given free to patients to boost their immune system.
Mayor Oca sincerely thanked the DPWH for leading this project.
“We thank the DPWH and Secretary Mark Villar for choosing our city to build this timely project,” said Malapitan.
“With this new facility, we will be able to better provide hospitals to those with severe symptoms and critical patients,” the mayor added.
The new quarantine facility is in addition to the 1,222 current bed capacity of all quarantine facilities throughout Caloocan, Malapitan noted.
