Yuka Saso of the Philippines ruled the Japan LPGA Nitori Ladies golf tournament.
In doing so she became the first rookie champion when action ended at the Otaru Country Club in Hokkaido.
The 19-year-old Saso capped the fourth and final round with a one-under 72, and an overall tally of 13 under par 275.
She stood her ground amidst challenges from Japanese Sakura Koiwai.
Koiwai, a 22-year-old pro from Hokkaido, ended the round with even par 72 for 11-under overall.
The Japanese bogeyed thrice and still managed to stay within reach of Saso with three birdies.
With the win, Saso went on to bag the top prize of P16.5 million, and earn the distinction as the first ladies pro rookie in Japan to win back-to-back championships, and the third in Tour history to do so.
This earned her P27.5 million in her three tournaments.
This is her second win in three weeks after capturing the NEC Kuruizawa title two weeks ago in Nagano.
She recovered from two bogeys and a birdie on the back nine before making par on the final three holes.
The other day, Saso kept her tight grip of the lead with a 68 in the penultimate round, and get a one-stroke lead into the final round.
This was after she sustained a double bogey on the par-four second hole.
The rookie hauled in a four-under card after a 67 and a 69 in the first two rounds.
