The Bureau of Customs seized hundreds of boxes of fake cigarettes worth more than P15 million in a raid of a warehouse in Bocaue, Bulacan.
The raid was conducted after customs authorities received intelligence reports that a warehouse in Bocaue, Bulacan was being used to store hundreds of boxes of counterfeit Marlboro, Astro, D&B, Two Moon and Union Cigarette brands.
Armed with a Letter of Authority (LOA) signed by BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero, members of ESS-QRT and Bocaue PNP inspected the subject warehouse on August 25, 2020.
The inspection resulted to the discovery of 246 master cases of suspected smuggled and counterfeit cigarettes.
The apprehended goods are currently undergoing further investigation and inventory.
