Comedienne Pokwang and TV host Pauleen Luna-Sotto got Ria Atayde’s back, so to speak. In a virtual media conference for their daily talk show, Chika, Besh, the 28-year-old first-time host told Manila Standard Entertainment that her co-hosts help her perform her job interviewing people.
“They told me to listen and to be not afraid to ask questions. And be open as well. Not that I’m not open but I just learned that it really works in this job. They (Pokwang and Pauleen) are very quick on their toes, they’re quick to think of questions to ask our guests,” she admitted.
“Everyday is a different experience. It really depends on who the guests are. You’d really be able to tell if I'm comfortable with the guests because I’m quite inquisitive, but if I don’t know our guests, that’s where my co-hosts come in to help me out,” Ria added.
Ria may be the youngest in the trio of hosts, but she has the maturity beyond her years. The movie and TV actress serves as the voice of the millennial generation. She wanted to bring something different to the table with her lively and dynamic personality.
“It’s so much fun working with and learning from them. They’re such joys to work with. They’re so open and they’re such sweet and thoughtful co-workers. On our first day, they both gave me food for me to take home,” Ria, who is still a Star Magic talent, said of her co-hosts.
Chika, Besh! (Basta Everyday Super Happy) premiered on Aug. 17. According to its hosts, the talk show aims to impart reliable information and positive stories that will surely make the start of the day happy and enjoyable for viewers.
Joining Pauleen, Pokwang, and Ria are DJ Malaya Macaraeg as field reporter for the in-show segment “Tatak Pinoy” featuring proudly Pinoy-made products. Christian Antolin is the Ka-Chika for “Laps Trips,” a segment on delicious local and foreign food recipes. Lastly, Inricho Bautista is the resident Tiktoker of the show who will feature viral videos and stories for the “Share Ko Lang” segment—all bringing positive vibes to viewers at home!
Chika, Besh! also has international correspondents who take viewers around the world from the comforts of their home.
Chika, Besh! Airs from Monday to Friday every 10:00 a.m. on TV5.
