DAR hands over P108.7-M ‘infra’ fund for S. Kudarat

The Department of Agrarian Reform has turned over P108.7 million worth of infrastructure in Sultan Kudarat, Mindanao.

“The project was implemented in coordination with the Department of Public Works and Highways and the local government unit of Palimbang, that did a tremendous job in making sure that the bridge and farm-to-market road is well-built and can benefit the community for many generations ahead,” DAR XII regional director Marion Abella said.

The infrastructure projects worth P108.7 million consisted of a bridge and farm-to-market road in Palimbang town under the Mindanao Sustainable Agrarian and Agriculture Development (MinSAAD) project. Rio N. Araja

The projects included a 60-meter-long, 9.2-meter-wide concrete bridge, worth P34.4 million connecting the border barangays Baluan of Palimbang and Tacupis of Senator Ninoy Aquino municipality, and a 9.8-kilometer road worth P74.2 million traversing various sitios of Kalibuhan and Baluan, also in Palimbang.

 “This is such a momentous event to witness and we humbly thank DAR-MinSAAD and DPWH for giving us a symbol of hope and a bridge for a better tomorrow,” Palimbang Mayor Joenime Kapina said.
