Citicore Power Inc. said wholly-owned subsidiary Citicore Renewable Energy Corp. plans to roll out a robust pipeline of solar projects with a combined capacity of 1,500 megawatts over the next five years.

Citicore said it would start the construction of a new solar plant in Central Luzon with a capacity of up to 75 MW by November this year.

“Citicore is excited with this partnership. We will continue to invest in the country’s clean energy future. For the past four years of our existence, Citicore has contributed to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by more than 600 thousand metric tons, light around four million households and created jobs in the communities we operate, and we’d like to do more,” said Citicore president Oliver Tan.
