Senator Christopher “Bong” Go on Wednesday issued a stern warning against perpetrators of fake news that President Rodrigo Duterte was airlifted from Davao City to Singapore over the weekend due to a medical emergency.
He also urged individuals behind the lies to stop spreading the fake news.
“It’s just okay to criticize the President. It’s just okay to criticize us if there’s something that should be fixed in our job. That’s very much welcome since we are public officials… it’s their right to criticize to improve our services,” added the former presidential aide.
The senator expressed dismay over inaccurate reports of the President’s health that keep circulating which he said could create panic and worsen the ongoing crisis. He also encouraged the public to be vigilant with the information they receive and always validate the accuracy of these reports.
He said the President is just working and is currently in Davao doing his job.
“In fact, the President no longer rests since he’s monitoring the situation,” said Go about the 75 year old President.
