Singer and YouTube star Emman Nimedez passed away earlier today, Aug. 16., his girlfriend Peachy Santos confirmed in a Facebook post.
Emman, 27, succumbed to acute myeloid leukemia or a cancer of the blood and bone marrow, after months of battling the disease. He first revealed his condition last May via a vlog on YouTube.
The online content creator died at 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, while he was confined at St. Luke's Medical Center in Quezon City, his girlfriend detailed.
“Our beloved Emman Nimedez joined our Creator at 1:00am today, August 16, 2020, Sunday. He was with his family during the time of his passing at St. Luke’s Medical Center – Quezon City. Our family is thankful to everyone who offered prayers and showed support,” Peachy wrote.
Emman, whose channel has more than two million subscribers, rose to popularity in 2017 for his parody videos of Korean dramas that went viral online. The last video the YouTuber was able to produce was a music video of his song “Uuwian” uploaded just two weeks ago.
Among the songs that he popularized on YouTube are “Teka lang” and “Kung Pwede Lang” that have amassed a combined views of 25 million as of this writing.
