Yodsanklai plans to strike gold In ONE return

“The Boxing Computer” Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex has done it all in the world of Muay Thai in a career that has spanned more than two decades.

There is only one thing missing from his trophy cabinet, and he plans to collect it this Friday.

Yodsanklai challenges Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy for his ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title in the co-main event of ONE: NO SURRENDER on 31 July in Bangkok, Thailand.

“My goal in ONE Championship is to be the ONE World Champion once in my life,” Yodsanklai told ONEFC.com.

“It’s been two years since I have joined ONE Championship, so I want to be the ONE World Champion. That’s my goal.”

Yodsanklai is a three-time Lumpinee Stadium World Champion, two-time Lion Fight World Champion, two-time WMC World Champion, and a former WBC World Titlist – and now he looks to add Petchmorakot’s strap to his collection, but it won’t be easy.

Petchmorakot is a superb striker with knockout power in all four limbs, and that is not lost on the esteemed challenger.

“Petchmorakot’s weapon that I need to watch out for is his elbow. His knee may be his signature weapon, but the most dangerous one is the elbow,” Yodsanklai said. “I need to look out for Petchmorakot’s elbow and his knee.”

However, Yodsanklai trusts that his attacks will do more damage when they meet in the middle of the Circle this Friday.

“My kick and punch are much stronger than Petchamorakot’s. They are explosive,” he said.

“I will beat Petchmorakot with my punch. My punch will slow him down, and I may knock him out since we are using mixed martial arts gloves.”

ONE Championship returns to live action for the first time in nearly five months with ONE: NO SURRENDER, a closed-door, audience-free card set for this Friday, July 31, in Bangkok, Thailand. Catch the event live and for free by downloading the ONE Super App.
