When the timing is right in the future, James Younghusband, along with his brother Phil, will consider any offers to coach the Philippine Azkals.
The 33-year-old Younghusband said this is one of his dreams when he made plans to retire.
“It’s a possibility. It’s a possibility,” said Younghusband when he talked about his goals after announcing his decision last week to hang his jersey in a podcast.
Younghusband is working on his plans at becoming a coach, or a member of the coaching staff of a club team.
And he will pursue his goals when “the new normal” times come.
“It’s all about if things will work out and if the timing is right,” added Younghusband.
His plans to retire took shape last year when Ceres FC won its second of three crowns in the Philippine Football League with him around and the coming games of the Azkals were cancelled.
During the three months that he stayed at home and spent a lot of time with his sister, Younghusband kept himself in shape with workouts.
“During this time, there are a lot of unknowns and it is important to look after our minds. When working out, you have to keep it fresh so you look forward to doing new exercises. It can be mentally tough staying in one place so exercising helps you forget that,” added Younghusband.
