A fight with four-division world middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez is a dream of Eumir Felix Marcial.
And meeting him on the ring is on top of Marcial’s wish list when he turns pro.
“As a middlewight pro, siyempre ang sarap talaga makalaban ‘yung champion ‘di ba?
The 24-year-old Marcial talked about his dreams and aspirations during a podcast last week.
Alvarez has held the unified World Boxing Association, World Boxing Council, The Ring and lineal middleweight titles since 2018, along with the International Boxing Federation middleweight title from May to August 2019 and the WBA super middleweight title since 2018.
So far, Marcial is still studying offers that are coming his way.
And a little help from from coach Joven Jimenez is something Marcial appreciates in his regular training session at his home in Imus, Cavite.
Marcial has been training while in quarantine at his home for the last three months.
And he may leave home soon, with the Philippine Sports Commission set to form a team of experts to help him prepare for the Tokyo Olympics.
And the agency is set to bring him to the boxing gym at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex and make it available to him for workouts.
PSC Commissioner Ramon Fernandez recently made assurances of the agency’s support to Marcial after both talked by phone last Thursday.
