Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado now knows the mountain he has to climb if he wants to achieve his dream in ONE Championship

Missing his place in the top five of the strawweight division, the Marikina City native is even more motivated to do better, and he vows to make waves in the weight class once action resumes in The Home Of Martial Arts.

“Looking at it, now I see where I stand in the division and I believe this will only push athletes to be better and try to break into the rankings, so we’ll be closer to our dream of fighting for the title,” Miado said.

“I have no problem with the rankings. I believe they deserve the position they are in. I know I came off a big win, but it only proved that I need more of those in order to break into the rankings.”

He last tasted action with a thunderous knockout win over Miao Li Tao at ONE: AGE OF DRAGONS, but Miado is now spending his free time with his partner, Chesla, and son, Tobiko.

Once given the green light to train again, the 27-year-old plans to hit the ground running.

“I attribute that win to a long and tedious training camp. I want a fitting follow-up to that win and hopefully I can repeat what I did and make some noise in the rankings,” Miado said.

“For my next fights, expect me to go all out. I’d strengthen every aspect of my game and pick up everything that I know will help me for my future matches.”

Given the depth of his division, “The Jaguar” will face challenges, but he knows the men at the top reached their destination through hard work.

He plans to do the same and then some.

“The ones in there are the perfect example that if you do things right, you’ll reach a long way,” Miado said.

“It’s all about hard work, discipline, and perseverance. I have a lot of dreams as an athlete, and I plan to reach them through the same formula that they have. I just have to focus every day and put out jaw-dropping performances.”
