Joyride PH on Friday is asking its delivery bikers to help the government go after illegal drugs and other criminality amid the lockdown due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Noli Eala, JoyRide vice president for corporate affairs, said their bikers do not just have the responsibility to buy essentials for their clients, but “they are also one with the government to help curb crime in these trying times.”

“The onset of COVID-19 has changed the lives of people, especially shaping the behavior of criminals. We must stay vigilant as some of the criminals such as illegal drug users love to exploit our distraction with disasters such as this pandemic,” Eala said.

A “vigilant” JoyRide delivery biker on Friday found a sachet of suspected marijuana sandwiched inside a bread loaf for delivery in Pasig City.

The rider said he received a booking in a condominium from a one Cookies Sagarbarria of Riverfront Residences, Barangay Maybunga, Pasig at about 10:20 a.m. for delivery on Manapat Street, Malabon City for a P314 booking free.
