Amid the enhanced community quarantine, cyber security advocates and doctors have partnered to help those who are in need of medical attention 24/7 in an effort to avoid face-to-face consultations and help slow down the spread of coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19).
Dr. Michael Aragon, League of Data Privacy and Cyber Security Advocates of the Philippines chairman, said they have launched the Digital Online Consultation for the People’s Health-Care (DOCPH) using the social media platform for those who are sick but could not go to a hospital for fear of contracting COVID-19.
The Philippine Medical Association, Private Hospital Association of the Philippines Inc., LEADCAP, Beta Sigma Fraternity Medical Group and Philippine Digital Medicine Society have joined hands to open DOCPH to address other health concerns of the people, aside from possible COVID-19 cases, starting April 20.
Concerned individuals may visit www.docph.org if they want to talk to a physician who could look into one’s medical condition and issue online prescription, said LEADCAP president and former senator Joey Lina.
The groups lauded Senator Manny Pacquiao for his endorsement of DOCPH to ease up the pain and sufferings of thousands of Filipinos who could not go out of their homes due to the lockdown or those who fear to contract COVID-19 at the hospitals.
Dr. Benito Atienza, PMA vice president, appealed to fellow physicians to join them and serve the people from the comforts of their homes.
