PAGCOR donates PPE to hospitals

In its effort to help thwart the high incidence of novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) infections among healthcare workers due to lack of personal protective equipment, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. distributed more essential gears to several public hospitals this week.

PAGCOR turned over this week 85,000 face masks to Rizal Medical Center, Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center, Tondo Medical Center, Lung Center of the Philippines, Philippine Heart Center and Philippine General Hospital. The agency also distributed N95 masks, face shields and protective clothing to the said hospitals.

Earlier, the state-run gaming firm also delivered over 47,000 POGO-donated food packs to communities in the National Capital Region, Benguet, Bulacan, Pampanga and Tarlac which direly need assistance due to the economic impact of the pandemic.

According to PAGCOR vice president for Corporate Social Responsibility Group Jimmy Bondoc, the agency is committed to deliver protective medical gears to more public hospitals in the coming days as they continue to receive requests for such.

“We have already reached out to many public hospitals during the past weeks, and we look forward to extending vital help to more healthcare institutions as we continue find our way out of this health crisis,” Bondoc said.

Meanwhile, the state-run gaming firm also delivered over 2,000 relief packs to the residents of the cities of San Pedro and San Pablo in Laguna, who were among those affected by Enhanced Community Quarantine restrictions implemented by the government.
