Cocolife, the biggest Filipino-owned stock life insurance company, recently donated P1 million to the University of the Philippines Manila – National Institute of Health (UP-NIH) for the purchase of one Real Time- Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) machine to help step-up efforts for coronavirus testing in the country.
RT-PCR Machines are used to make a minuscule amount of very distinct viral genetic material detectable, which significantly improves the timely release of COVID-19 test results in the country.
Cocolife Chief of Staff lawyer Jan Darryl Dimaculangan turned over the donation to UP Manila Vice Chancellor for Research Dr Armando Crisostomo.
Cocolife President and CEO Atty Martin Loon said the company is united with the nation and the government in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Likewise, Cocolife continues to extend full coverage for all COVID-19-related hospitalization of its health card members.
Cocolife insurance policies affixed with Hospitalization Benefit (HIB) and Hospitalization Benefit Rider Plus (HIB+) are also entitled to daily hospital income in case of confinement due to COVID 19, subject to policy terms.
Aside from its 24/7 Helplines/Hotlines, a Cocolife special ground staff is stationed in its Makati Head Office to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of its services.
The grace period has also been extended from 31 days to 61 days for all premium dues for the period March 15 to April 30, 2020.
Cocolife recently celebrated its 42nd anniversary but has decided to allocate resources to help alleviate the financial distress brought about by the enhanced community quarantine to its employees, sales force, partners, stakeholders and foundation beneficiaries.
