SEAOIL gives P.4M fuel subsidy to DOTr shuttle service for medical frontliners

Seaoil has released free fuel worth more than P400,000 for buses ferrying medical frontliners under the DOTr's free shuttle service program as the country continues to battle the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The DOTr said 15 bus units participating in the program can avail of 50 liters of free fuel daily, which translates to a total of 13,500 liters.

"We are very grateful to Seaoil Philippines for providing fuel subsidies to the bus units of our free ride program. Malaking tulong po ito, hindi lang para sa amin, o sa mga bus, kundi makasisiguro rin tayo na maitataguyod natin ang serbisyo publiko para sa mga medical frontliners sa gitna ng COVID-19 pandemic," Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said.

The free ride for health workers program has already transported 35,873 health workers residing in NCR, and 87,702 from other regions, for a total of 123,575 medical workers as of April 9.

The additional fuel donation is in line with SEAOIL's active efforts in providing free fuel and discounts to hospitals, medical frontliners, transport groups and select local government units.
